Hmmm.. I dunno what to say. I got two demo songs and that’s not quite enough to make a REAL review. I’d have to ramble on and give a lot of filler to make it worth a read so – since you’ve read this far you can see all this filler.. *twiddles thumbs*..
Genre: A style. Be it a movie, music or even food. Everything can be tossed casually into a specific grouping. The B Students could very well be an anomaly. I hear some SKA.. Punk.. Rock.. so let’s just call it (S)CRAP.
I’d consider calling them a Beck rip-off but I sort of like Beck. Reminds me of bad Monkees tunes with a little Dylan mouth harp (harmonica) thrown in for no apparent reason other than to show they read Harmonica Playing for Dummies.
Lyrics aren’t bad. Too bad the singing is whiney and the playing is sophomoric at best. I can see a need for this album so that people in hash houses have something to relax to. I seriously hope this isn’t a new movement in musical evolution.
Give me more and I’ll revise but based on what I have the B Students get a D+ and an A for effort.
